ABOUT ABOUT

Join Joan Green to learn about her top iPad picks for improving auditory comprehension skills. She will spend the first 30 minutes presenting her favorite drill and practice apps as well as assistive technologies that can be used with the ipad. There will then be 30 minutes for collaboration, discussion and Q&A.  A detailed handout will be emailed to participants with information about all the resources which are included in the presentation. This webinar is limited to the first 25 individuals who register.

A wide variety of apps and strategies wil be presented to help people who have challenges related to auditory comprehension. Everything shown will be great for typically developing children, but an emphasis will be placed on presenting resources helpful for the following populations:

  • adults with receptive aphasia
  • individuals with receptive language delays and disorders

The presentation is appropriate for speech-language pathologists, teachers, tutors, families and other rehabilitation and education professionals. A basic understanding of iPad use and the procedure for installing apps will be assumed.

Apps will be shown which can be used to help improve:

  • Understanding words said aloud
  • Following spoken directions
  • Understanding questions
  • auditory skills needed to listen, learn and communicate such as memory, discrimination and sequencing of auditory input
